Alai to host over 4K fans in his backyard for Harambee Stars march viewing

Nairobi Member of County Assembly (MCA) representing Kileleshwa ward, Robert Alai, has extended an open invitation to football enthusiasts for the viewing of the much-anticipated Harambee Stars vs Zambia clash scheduled for Sunday, August 17, 2025, in the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament.
Taking to his official X account on the night of Saturday, August 16, 2025, Alai announced that he will host more than 4,000 fans in his backyard for a live viewing of the highly anticipated match.
The politician-cum-blogger invited football enthusiasts who will not make it to Moi Sports Centre Kasarani, where the match will be played, to join him at his backyard for live viewing.
“Kesho, I am hosting football fans. Over 4,000 of them in my backyard for viewing.Karibuni!” Alai stated.

Crowd control
Alai’s decision to host fans comes days after Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed revealed the various fan spots where Harambee Stars fans can watch the upcoming clash pitting Kenya against Zambia.
The FKF supremo made the revelation this Wednesday, August 13, 2025, via his X page as the federation looks to nip in the bud the challenge of crowd trouble that has marred the hosting of the biennial tournament that started on Saturday, August 3, 2025, across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The fan zones will be located at Uhuru Park (CBD), Lucky Summer-Ngomongo area (behind Kasarani Stadium), Dandora Stadium, Utalii (Stima Club), Jacaranda Grounds, and Kibera DC Grounds.
Six designated zones
‘For those without tickets, official fan zones with big screens will be open at Jacaranda, Uhuru Park, Dandora Stadium, Utalii, Kasarani, and DC Grounds, Kibra. Let’s enjoy the game safely and protect our football,” he said.
The foregoing comes as FKF and the government ramp up safety protocols to ensure that the recent multiple safety and security breaches at the stadium are dealt with once and for all.
The breaches have come at a dear cost, with two of Kenya’s games attracting hefty fines from the tournament organisers, the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
