Fast rising artiste Steven Otieno, alias Stivo Simple Boy, revealed that he built his parents a home in the village.

This, he said, was financed by his first endorsement gig which earned him half a million.

Stivo says he secured a featured advertisement with a betting company with the help of his former management.

“It was half a million that was for the ad…Nilishika hizo pesa nikajengea wazazi nyumba ushago,” Stivo said in an interview with ‘Iko Nini’ podcast.

The ‘Vijana tuache mihadarati’ hitmaker further retaliated with many insisting that a music career is not lucrative.

“Usanii unalipa ukiwa humble. Kama hauna vituko mingi ohh na ma clout mingi inalipa, ukitulia tu,” he said.

He also revealed that he had to edit part of his latest song ‘Freshi barida’ to remove the late President Mwai Kibaki’s name.

This was occasioned by Kibaki’s death prior to release.

“Tulisema hapo kwa Kibaki wacha tu mute coz italeta maneno mengi. Ukiskia kwa io ngoma, utaskia ki ki Stivo Simple Boy added.
