Content creator Pritty Vishy has once again made headlines after disclosing that she is back on Ozempic, a weight loss drug that has recently been cautioned against by the Ministry of Health.

The outspoken influencer, who has previously been open about her cosmetic surgery procedures, shared on Instagram that she is taking semaglutide shots to manage her weight after regaining some kilos.

Just a few weeks ago, Vishy revealed that she had undergone 360 liposuction and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), procedures that sparked widespread discussions online. Now, her return to Ozempic has stirred another round of conversation, especially given the government’s recent warning against misuse of the drug due to potential side effects.

Weight struggle

According to Vishy, she had been off Ozempic since April after her surgery, during which she learned skills to help her maintain her weight at 72kgs. However, she admitted that the recovery process made it difficult to control her diet.

“”I have been off Ozempic since April, and the facility has taught me some skills on how I could maintain my 72 kgs,” she wrote. “After surgery, I have been eating a lot more because of the meds I had to take, and sometimes I couldn’t choose what not to eat because I was under my bestie’s care, and being strict, I felt like Nasumbua. So I have gained 8 kgs.”

The content creator went on to reveal that she is currently five weeks into her new regimen and feels comfortable enough to restart the shots. “I’m good now, so I have decided to take semaglutide shots for a month and stay off it,” she added.

Public concern vs personal choice

Vishy’s confession has once again raised the question of how celebrities balance personal image, health, and the influence they have on their fans. While she insists that the decision to return to Ozempic is personal and temporary, critics have pointed out the risk of normalising the use of prescription drugs for weight management.

The Ministry of Health has previously cautioned Kenyans against unregulated use of drugs like Ozempic, emphasising the need for professional medical guidance. Despite the concerns, Vishy appears determined to control her weight journey on her terms.
