PHOTOS: Rachel Ruto hosts Museveni’s daughter, women lawmakers for convocation prayer day
First lady Rachael Ruto on Wednesday, May 28, 2024, hosted First Daughter of Uganda Pastor Patience Museveni and a section of women lawmakers at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.
The first lady alongside the spouse to the Deputy President Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, met women leaders for the national convocation prayer day.
The First Lady, who has for years led the convocation, encouraged the attendees to pray.
Pastor Patience Museveni who was the chief guest reminded them to stand in the gap, referencing various people from the Bible.
“I, therefore, called on women to take their rightful place and intercede for their families, nation, and Africa, following the great example of our Mother in the Nation.
“Pastor Patience reminded us of the redemptive purpose of Africa (Isaiah ) and said, “God is moving in Africa, do we perceive it?” (Isaiah ). She challenged women in leadership by referencing Daniel, a government official who understood the seasons, stood in the gap, and ensured the nation did not miss the hour of visitation.
“The sons of Issachar also understood the seasons. She called the nation to repentance and to adopt the posture of Daniel (praying) to unlock the new season,” Pastor Dorcas Rigathi said.
