Clinical officers Strike
The Kenya Union of Clinical Officers (KUCO) strike started on May 15, 2024.
The ongoing nationwide strike by the clinical officers has affected the health delivery in level 4,3 hospitals as well as dispensaries and health centres across the entire country.
The strike enters its 59 day today with the union leaders blaming the government for what they say is a non-commitment of finding a solution to the strike.

Clinicians demand
Among the demands being tabled by the clinicians include a review of salaries for Universal Health Coverage-UHC clinicians, risk allowance, and the absorption of a section of their lot on a permanent basis.
KUCO national chairperson Peterson Wachira says out of 10 areas of concern, three are yet to be addressed and there seems to be no progress.
On Tuesday, Wachira led the clinicians in protests in the coast counties including Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale counties.
On Wednesday, the clinicians will hold demos in Kisii County in the Nyanza region.
