The Speaker eulogised the deceased as a peace-loving Kenyan who was passionate about improving the lives of his people.

He was the chairman of the implementation committee in the Nyeri County Assembly.

“Wahome was peace-loving, he loved people and was development conscious and he interacted well with everyone he came across. It’s sad that we have lost a young energetic man who served his people with passion,” Kaguchia said.

Gatitu/Muruguru ward MCA Symon Muturi who was a close ally of the deceased said Wahome was in high spirit and was looking forward to being discharged in order to continue serving the people as well as defending his seat.

“We talked on Saturday and he was jovial and looking forward to getting better soon in order to defend the Karima ward seat in the coming general elections. I have lost a friend,” Muturi revealed.

Wahome was seeking to defend his seat as an independent candidate after he lost the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket in the primaries held in March.
