Congolese Rhumba queen Mbilia Bel now says she will continue hitting the campaign trail with Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga until he clinches the top seat.

This, according to Bel, is a way of offering her support for the former premier.

Speaking to a local publication, Bel noted that her decision to sing for the former premier was cued by Raila’s decision to choose a woman as his running mate in the August polls.

“I am here voluntarily, and for the love of Raila Odinga and his running mate. I will sing until Raila is sworn as the next president,” Bel lamented.

The mother of three also noted that apart from the fact that Raila chose Martha as his running mate, his manifesto and his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta also prompted her to support Raila.

“I personally respect Raila and his running mate Martha Karua as they are like our parents….because Raila has a lot of respect for my music and other artistes’ music,” Bell added.

“When he comes to Congo, he supports us to spread peace among the people of Africa. Now they have come together with President Kenyatta and given women a lead in politics, something that I appreciate a lot, and that’s why it was not a problem performing at his campaign,”
