“We shall unveil a set of new generation coins compliant with our 2010 Constitution. I am extremely pleased that today we can achieve another milestone,

“I am informed that the new generation coins continue the tradition of depicting an aspect that best describes our country,” Uhuru added.

Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC)
Uhuru unveiled the Competency-Based Curriculum in 2017 to replace the 8-4-4 system.

This will see learners undertaking 2 years of pre-primary education, 6 years in primary, 3 years in Junior secondary education, 3 years in senior secondary education, and 3 years in tertiary education

The system(still under rollout today) was invented to reduce the number of years from 8 to 6 years.

Speaking on the system’s progress, Uhuru mentioned that the system’s rollout is still on course.

“…My administration has progressively expanded the education infrastructure to accommodate enrollment growth. This includes classrooms, desks, and chairs, as well as electricity. We are laying a firm foundation for our children that will not be shaken,” Uhuru stated.

Change of police uniform
The head of state foresaw the change of police uniforms which came in line with the introduction of police reforms he officiated.

The change saw police moving from navy blue to Persian blue uniforms.
