The body of a 22-year-old woman who died under unclear circumstances while working as a house help in Saudi Arabia has arrived in Nairobi.
The body of the late Celina Kazungu arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) today and was ferried to Malindi for burial.
According to the elder brother Fred Kazungu of the deceased, the family would receive the body of their Kin at Malindi international airport and transport it to the Star hospital mortuary.
Kazungu said his family has been living in agony since March 8 this year, following the death of their kin, who is believed to have been stabbed to death by her employer.
She later died on March 11 while receiving treatment at the Intensive care Unit (ICU); however, her death was not reported until a civil society group took over the matter and established that she had died in a foreign country.
“Upon learning of her death, we contacted the Kenyan embassy in Saudia, who facilitated the transport of the body with the help of other Kenyans,” Kazungu said.
Contract documents in the custody of the family revealed that Kazungu had signed a Domestic Service Worker contract with a Saudia Arabian Employer for two years.
