KPL clubs eye CAF Confederation Cup ticket as FKF Cup enters decisive phase

Kenyan Premier League clubs will be out seeking a direct ticket to represent the country at the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup as the FKF Cup 2026 enters a decisive phase starting on Friday, April 10, 2026.

The Cup’s round of 16 clashes will start on Friday with Tusker hosting Kariobangi Sharks in an all-top-flight affair at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, starting at 1:00 pm.

Mixed teams

With a mix of top-flight sides, National Super League contenders and fearless underdogs still in the hunt, the draw has delivered a little bit of everything: big clashes, tricky tests and the potential for more cup surprises.

One of the standout ties sees giant slayers BB Bread drawn against top-tier side Kenya Police FC. BB Bread have been one of the stories of this year’s tournament, and this fixture presents a real test of just how far their impressive run can go.

Another eye-catching matchup pits FKF Premier League side Shabana FC against non-league outfit Kuta Collections. The underdogs, already making waves with their unique story, will be keen to rise to the occasion once again against the Glamour Boys.

National Super League side 3K FC have been handed a tough assignment against Bandari FC, whileMfalme FC face Murang’a Seal FC in what looks set to be a fierce contest.

Elsewhere, all top-flight clashes will see Nairobi United FC take on Posta Rangers FC, while Tusker FC goes up against Kariobangi Sharks FC in another intriguing fixture.

In Kakamega, Kakamega Homeboyz FC will face Ulinzi Stars FC, with both sides eyeing a strong push towards silverware.
