Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power interruption affecting parts of Kwale County in the Coast region on Monday, June 15, 2026, to allow for routine maintenance works.

In a public notice on Sunday, June 14, 2026, the utility company stated that the planned maintenance will lead to a temporary electricity outage in selected areas between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

According to the notice, the affected areas include Manyatta and Ukunda, with several customers in surrounding neighbourhoods also expected to experience interruptions.

“Good evening, please receive the list of areas scheduled for maintenance tomorrow (Monday, 15th June 2026). ^RW POWER INTERRUPTION NOTICE MON.15.06.2026 COAST REGION PARTS OF KWALE COUNTY AFFECTED AREAS MANYATTA, UKUNDA,” the notice read in part.

Kenya Power indicated that customers within Manyatta, Alliance Safari, Baobab and adjacent areas will be impacted during the six-hour maintenance window.

The company noted that the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery, strengthen the electricity network and enhance reliability of supply in the region.

“Monday 15.06.2026 TIME: 9.00A.M.-3.00P.M. Manyatta, Alliance Safari, Baobab & adjacent customers,” the statement added.

Residents and business operators in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance, including switching off electrical appliances during the outage period to avoid possible damage when power is restored.

Sunday blackout

Previously, on June 13, 2026, the utility company Kenya Power announced planned power maintenance scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026, affecting select areas in Nairobi and Kiambu counties.

The utility company advised customers in the affected areas to make necessary preparations ahead of the scheduled outage.

“Kindly receive the list of areas scheduled for maintenance tomorrow,” Kenya Power stated, urging residents and businesses to plan accordingly during the interruption window.

In the Nairobi Region, customers in parts of Lower CBD and Ngara were expected to experience a power interruption running from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected areas included sections of Kirinyaga Road, Kweria Road, Kilome Road, parts of Kipande Road, and Ngara Road, as well as Police Sacco, Fig Tree and surrounding customers.

A second Nairobi area, parts of Babadogo, was also listed for a planned outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected zones included Abagas Lane, Chandaria Go Down and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu County, parts of Ruiru Town were scheduled for a blackout from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The utility listed several affected locations, including Njenga Mabati, Railway Station, Danco Factory, Danga Hotel, Equity and Family Banks, Shell Ruiru Town, Carrefour Supermarket, Quickmart, Masaku Stage, Valley Land, Nazareth Hospital, Public Works offices, Affordable Housing units, Hilton area, Shell Bamboo Estate, Mama Shop, Njoki Plaza, Ruiru Prisons, Super-Foam Industries, OJ, BTL Kwa Nyanya and surrounding customers.
