Kenya Power lists Nairobi and Kiambu areas to experience blackout on Sunday, June 14

Kenya Power has announced planned power maintenance scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026, affecting select areas in Nairobi and Kiambu counties.
The utility company shared the notice on X on Saturday evening, June 13, 2026, advising affected customers to plan accordingly.
“Kindly receive the list of areas scheduled for maintenance tomorrow,” Kenya Power said, urging residents and businesses in the listed areas to make alternative arrangements during the outage window.
Nairobi areas affected
In the Nairobi Region, customers in parts of Lower CBD and Ngara will experience a power interruption from 7.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Affected streets and landmarks include part of Kirinyaga Road, Kweria Road, Kilome Road, part of Kipande Road, part of Ngara Road, Police Sacco, Fig Tree, and adjacent customers.

A second area in Nairobi, part of Babadogo, will be without power from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Abagas Lane, Chandaria Go Down, and adjacent customers are on the list.
Kiambu County areas affected
In Kiambu County, part of Ruiru Town will experience an outage from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
A wide range of locations fall within the affected zone, including Njenga Mabati, Railway Station, Danco Factory, Danga Hotel, Equity, Family Banks, Shell Ruiru Town, Carrefour Super Market, Quickmart, Masaku Stage, Valley Land, Nazareth Hospital, Public Works, Affordable Housing, Hilton, Shell Bamboo Estate, Mama Shop, Njoki Plaza, Ruiru Prisons, Super-Foam Industries, OJ, BTL Kwa Nyanya, and adjacent customers.
Kenya Power has advised customers in all the listed areas to switch off electrical appliances ahead of the outage to prevent damage when power is restored.
