The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a public notice warning motorists of a temporary traffic disruption along the Ukunda–Lungalunga (A7) Road at the approaches to Perani Bridge.

In a statement issued on Monday, May 4, 2026, the agency said the disruption is necessary to allow maintenance work on sections of the road that were damaged by recent heavy rainfall.

KeNHA explained that the intervention is aimed at restoring damaged sections and improving safety along the busy coastal route.

“KeNHA wishes to notify the public and motorists of a temporary disruption of traffic along the Ukunda – Lunga Lunga (A7) Road at the approaches to Perani Bridge,” the authority said.

It added that the works are part of ongoing efforts to repair infrastructure affected by adverse weather conditions.

“The disruption is due to ongoing maintenance works to repair sections of the road damaged by recent heavy rainfall in the area,” the statement added.

Motorists have been advised to exercise caution and follow all temporary traffic arrangements in place.

“Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching the affected sections, comply with temporary road signage in place, and cooperate with traffic marshals and enforcement officers on site,” KeNHA said.
