KeNHA announces temporary closure of road sections on Haile Selassie Roundabout
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued an alert to motorists using the Uhuru Highway and the Haile Selassie Roundabout of a traffic disruption following a temporary closure of the roads.
In a statement on KeNHA’s official X account on Thursday, January 15, 2026, the authority announced that the closure will be done in phased intervals.
“@KeNHAKenya wishes to notify the public that there will be a temporary closure of road sections on Uhuru Highway/Haile Selassie Roundabout,” KeNHA said.
According to KeNHA the road closure is expected to begin on Friday, January 23, 2026 and is expected to end on Sunday January 25,2026.
KeNHA has announced that the closure is scheduled in phase intervals between 10 pm and 5 am.
“The closure is scheduled in phase intervals between 10 pm to 5 am from Friday January 23, 2026 to Sunday January 25, 2026,” KeNHA said.

The traffic disruption is set to affect at least four roads including the CBD Bound Lanes, Upper Hill Bound Lanes, Mombasa Bound Lanes and Nakuru Bound Lanes.
“The road sections to be affected are as follows: CBD Bound Lanes, Upper Hill Bound Lanes, Mombasa Bound Lanes, Nakuru Bound Lanes,” KeNHA added.
According to KeNHA, the road closure is set to pave the way for the reinstatement of the Tarmac.
Meanwhile Motorists are advised to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.
