Family appeals for help to find missing 14-year-old son in Nakuru
A family from Kapkures, in Nakuru West Constituency, Nakuru County, is appealing for help in tracing their 14-year-old son, Naftali Nyairero, who has been missing for a week.
According to the family, Naftali was last seen on Saturday, February 8, 2026, in the afternoon while playing with friends near their home. He has not been seen since.

Speaking on Saturday, February 14, 2026, his mother, Phanice Nyaboke, said she had left the children at home with their father earlier that day.
“When I left home, I left the children with their father. He later told me that after finishing cooking at around 2:30 p.m., he stepped out. From that time, our child has been missing up to now,” Nyaboke said.
Family members, neighbours, and local leaders have conducted extensive searches in nearby areas, including a large forest and the Ndarugu River, but have not found any results.
Area elder James Mokua said residents have combed through the surrounding forest and even sought assistance from swimmers to search the nearby river.
“There is a large forest on this side that we have searched. There is also the Ndarugu River, which we have searched thoroughly. We even engaged young men who know how to swim, and they searched the river, but the child has not been found. We also called for help from Nakuru County divers, but still, there has been no trace of him,” Mokua said.
A neighbour, Gladys Moraa, urged the government to intervene and assist in locating the missing boy.
“We are asking the government to help us in any way possible to find this child. As residents, we have done everything we can, but we are unable to determine where the child went. Even the friends he was with have not provided any clear answers,” she said.
