Gatundu North Member of Parliament, Elijah Njoroge Kururia, has gone full throttle on women who use the emergency contraceptive pill P2 to avoid unplanned pregnancies.

He has claimed that some women have taken the pill for a prolonged period, which he says has affected their chances of having children. He compared these women to those who have had abortions, calling them demons.

In a wild rant on his official Facebook page on Sunday, December 28, 2025, the MP said women over 30 who have used P2 for years will soon be 40. He claimed that some women choose to take the pill or abort to remain young, hot and marketable, and suggested that such choices are worse than murder.

Kururia argued that these practices, in his view, are driven by a desire to preserve physical appeal rather than for health reasons. He warned that prolonged reliance on P2 could have serious consequences for women’s fertility.

“You are 30yrs plus; Umekunywa P2 na Pombe, for ten years, Ndio usizae, Kwani hauna uterus? Ata huwezi zaa mamako? wewe. In 10yrs you’ll be 40. They take P2 to remain babyless and be considered YOUNG, HOT and MARKETABLE. Others abort to be seen good, young, fresh and hot. You are worse than the ordinary MURDERERS. Demons,” he said.
