Apple TV in Kenya: 5 things viewers should know

Apple TV is now available to viewers in Kenya, giving subscribers access to Apple’s growing library of original films, series and other entertainment.
The change comes after Apple expanded its iCloud+ offering in Kenya to include Apple TV and Apple Arcade at no additional cost for existing iCloud+ subscribers. The move gives Kenyan viewers another option for streaming entertainment, but there are a few details worth knowing before signing up.
Apple TV is now available through iCloud+
According to Apple, iCloud+ subscribers in Kenya began receiving access to Apple TV in September 2026 as part of their existing subscription.
This means eligible users do not need to pay a separate Apple TV subscription on top of their iCloud+ plan. Apple said the expanded package is available in more than 100 countries and gives subscribers access to Apple TV and Apple Arcade alongside their existing iCloud storage and privacy features.
For viewers who already use iCloud+ for storing photos, files and device backups, the addition of Apple TV means the same subscription now offers entertainment benefits as well.
There is more than just TV shows
Apple TV is built around Apple Originals, with a selection of drama, comedy, science fiction, thrillers, documentaries, films and family programmes.
According to Apple’s official Apple TV platform, viewers can watch titles such as Severance, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, The Morning Show, Silo and Shrinking. New films and episodes are also added regularly.
The platform does not work like a general marketplace where one subscription automatically gives access to every film available on the Apple TV app. Apple says the Apple TV subscription covers its own content, while some third-party services and titles available for rental or purchase are separate.
You do not need an iPhone to watch
One detail that may interest Kenyan viewers is that Apple TV is not limited to Apple devices.
According to Apple, the service can be accessed through the Apple TV app on supported smart TVs, streaming devices, game consoles, Android devices, and Windows computers. It can also be watched through a web browser.
This means someone using an Android phone or a non-Apple television can still access Apple TV, provided the device is supported.
Family members can share the subscription
Another feature available to iCloud+ users is Family Sharing. Apple says an iCloud+ subscription can be shared with up to five other family members, allowing the benefits of the subscription to extend across a household.
This can make the package useful for families who already share an Apple subscription and want different members to access the available services from their own devices.
Apple TV is different from Apple TV 4K
The names can easily be confusing. Apple TV refers to Apple’s streaming service and app, while Apple TV 4K is a physical streaming device that connects to a television.
The service can therefore be used without buying an Apple TV 4K box. According to Apple, viewers can access Apple TV through compatible smart TVs, mobile devices, computers, streaming devices and game consoles.
For Kenyan viewers, the main change is therefore not the arrival of another television box, but the availability of Apple’s streaming service through the expanded iCloud+ package.
The new offering gives existing iCloud+ subscribers another way to watch Apple Originals without taking out a separate Apple TV subscription, while also adding Apple Arcade to the package.
