Michail Antonio found guilty over Lamborghini offence as Watford star faces potential driving ban

Former Premier League star Michail Antonio has been slapped with a six-month driving ban for failing to identify the driver of his Lamborghini supercar when it was suspected of involvement in a motoring offence in central London.
The 36-year-old was charged by the Metropolitan Police with failing to assist an investigation when his car had been spotted being driven without due care and attention late at night in Pall Mall last November 2025.

The magistrates found the former West Ham striker guilty of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required.
Along with the count of failing to respond to legal queries, the magistrate ordered that he pay a fine and court costs.
Antonio, who already had six penalty points on his licence after being convicted of driving without insurance in July 2025, will now serve an automatic six-month disqualification, along with additional charges in fines, prosecution costs, and a victim surcharge.
In his defence, Antonio told the court that he was not the driver that night, having allowed his Lamborghini to be loaned out to his cousin while he was away in Manchester.

He further claimed he had not received the initial police letter asking for the driver’s identity, suggesting it was lost in the post and did not reach him.
While giving his evidence, the former star also expressed shock upon discovering in February that he had been charged with a failure to identify the driver. Antonio told the court he left his cousin to reply to the charge and believed he had then provided details of the actual driver.
Antonio, who earlier this September joined Watford FC on a free transfer, had his career disrupted in December 2024 when he crashed a Ferrari in Epping Forest in Essex, suffering a badly broken leg in an accident that almost claimed his life.
The Jamaican international spent three weeks in hospital and was out of the game recovering from his injuries for more than half a year.
