‘Umekuwa TikToker’ – Willy Oeba mocks Jalang’o’s dalliance with Ruto

Activist Willy Oeba has mocked Langa’ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor, alias Jalang’o over the latter’s dalliance with Ruto.
While reacting to a video in which the MP met Ruto who promised to sponsor Masagara and Useful Idioty to watch Manchester United and Arsenal games at Old Trafford and Emirates respectively, Oeba poked holes into Jalang’o’s record.
In a statement posted on his X account on February 16, 2026, the spoken word artist accused the lawmaker of desperate clout chasing.
He added that Jalang’o has since turned into a TikToker, churning content and struggling to fit after veering off the course that endeared him to the public.

Oeba also dismissed Jalang’o’s record as an MP, opining that he performed dismally after failing to achieve less than 40 per cent of what he promised.
“Struggling to fit in but inakataa. Imagine kama ungefanyia tu wakenya kazi ata 40% of what you promised, hungehave ku clout chase hivi we mzee Umekuwa tik toker,” Oeba stated.
This loosely translates to: He Struugling to fit in unsuccessfully. Had you fulfilled even 40 per cent of what you promised, you wouldn’t have to clout chase this way and turn into a TikToker”.
Jalang’o’s focus
Critics have in the recent past fingered the lawmaker for focusing on minor issues and perpetuating a culture of tokenism at a time when Kenyans need solutions to serious challenges.

The MP has, in recent days, warmed up to Ruto, with the last few meetings resulting in goodies which many have dismissed as handouts.
He met the President last week and collected Ksh 4 million, which he delivered to media personality Obinna for the much-anticipated fight between Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer.
Cop Shakur dismisses Jalang’o as a clout chaser
Former prison warden Jackson Kuria Kihara, popularly known as Shakur The Cop, dismissed Jalang’o as a clout chaser following the meeting in which the MP received the money and relayed it to Obinna.
“Jalang’o is a clout chaser; he is not a genuine person. Yesterday, he went to see the President, not to help, but because of the hype around “Majembe and the Weka Mawe guy,” Shakur stated on X on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Jalang’o who is serving his first term as Lang’ata MP has set his eyes on becoming the next Senator for Nairobi, but a tough battle awaits him as Edwin Sifuna has also made his intentions to defend the seat known.
