Nairobi has officially caught festival fever as the prestigious SolFest 2025 VIP show declared a total sell-out hours before the first note was even played.

Despite a staggering price tag of up to Ksh25,000 per ticket, the demand for the 5th-anniversary celebration has been unprecedented.

Organisers were forced to pull the shutters on ticket sales at 5:00 pm yesterday to preserve the intimate and high-end atmosphere promised to the city’s big spenders.

Lucky ticket holders arriving at Uhuru Gardens tonight are set for more than just a musical masterclass. The VIP experience includes a “welcome drink” reception followed by a legendary unlimited BBQ dinner provided by the world-famous Carnivore restaurant.

From succulent beef and pork to more adventurous “beast” carvings, the culinary offering has turned the concert into the ultimate “see-and-be-seen” gala for Kenya’s socialites and business titans.

While the food is a draw, the 2025 lineup is the true crown jewel.

To celebrate five years of the festival, Sauti Sol has curated a historic “Three Generations” theme.

Tonight’s VIP crowd will witness 1st Generation legends like Jua Cali, Nameless, and Redsan sharing the stage with 2nd Generation superstars, including a highly anticipated group performance by Sauti Sol themselves.

Representing the “New Wave,” stars like Lil Maina and Njerae will prove that the future of Kenyan urban sound is in safe hands.

For those who missed out on the VIP glitz, the pressure is now on for the Fan Show scheduled for Saturday, December 20.

While the Ksh25,000 VIP berths are gone, ‘Advance II’ tickets for the Saturday open-air event are currently retailing for Ksh4,000.

However, with the VIP night hitting capacity so quickly, industry insiders warn that Saturday’s tickets are likely to vanish by Friday morning.

As the gates swing open and the aroma of roasted meats wafts across Lang’ata, SolFest 2025 has firmly cemented its status as the most exclusive event on the African social calendar.

Sauti Sol reunion

On May 20, 2023, Sauti Sol – Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Polycarp Otieno, and Savara Mudigi – revealed they were taking a break to focus on their individual careers following their final world tour that year.

While Sauti Sol announced an indefinite hiatus as a group following the 2023 edition of SolFest, they have officially reunited to headline SolFest 2025.

The group is performing together for this special 5th-anniversary edition to celebrate their iconic album, Midnight Train.

They are performing as a group for both the VIP Show (December 18, 2025) and the Fan Show (December 20, 2025).
