Peter Kioi admitted to rehab amid alcohol addiction battle
Famous TikToker Peter Kioi has been admitted to a rehabilitation centre as he begins a new chapter in his fight against alcohol addiction and mental health challenges.
According to Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, Kioi has been battling depression after losing his assets and valuables to people he once trusted.
Mosiria added that the emotional toll pushed Kioi into alcohol use as a coping mechanism, a situation that later escalated and affected his health, adding that he was subsequently diagnosed with liver and kidney complications, further highlighting the urgency of seeking professional help.

Professional help
In an update issued by Mosiria on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, he expressed gratitude to Kioi for accepting going to the rehabilitation centre in a bid to overcome alcohol and substance abuse, noting that it was a wise decision in his life.
He also called on the public to keep him in their prayers, adding that he had been officially admitted that afternoon.
“HEALING JOURNEY YA PETER KIOI. Our brother Peter Kioi has been battling depression and mental health challenges after people he trusted took away his assets and other valuables. Since no one took the time to listen to him, he sought help in alcohol and was later diagnosed with liver and kidney problems,” Mosiria wrote.
“I want to thank him for accepting to go to the rehabilitation centre to help him leave alcohol and substance abuse. This is a wise decision he has made in his life. Let’s put him in prayers as he is officially admitted today in the afternoon.”

Mosiria’s intervention
In addition, Mosiria stated that when his condition worsened, Kioi’s friend reached out to him for support.
“When things became difficult, he decided to seek help from his close friends, who reached out to me. I offered to take care of his rehabilitation treatment at Rapid Rehabilitation Centre for Addiction, where he will receive the necessary support and care. Once he recovers, we will join hands to help him start a new life and support him with resources to get back on his feet,” he added.
Earlier, in a video shared on his page on Friday, May 1, 2026, Mosiria revealed that he personally intervened after coming across the viral video. He said he reached out to Kioi and worked alongside others to ensure he received help, including facilitating his admission into a rehabilitation facility.
According to Mosiria, concerns had also been raised about Kioi’s struggle with substance use, with some suggesting that addiction had begun affecting his mental health.
“There is a video I saw online of Kioi saying he is sure he will die this year. I asked him what happened and what made him say that, because I believe he can live beyond this year, even many more years,” Mosiria said.
“I have known Kioi from before, when we worked together to help a needy person called Collins, and he has always been supportive. Today we have brought him to a rehab. Kioi has been going through challenges like any other human being, and after I was on a live, some people reached out saying he had developed mental health issues due to addiction.”
