Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has stepped in to support TikToker Peter Kioi following his recent emotional remarks in which he claimed he may not live beyond 2026.

Kioi had earlier sparked concern online after stating during a TikTok live session that he believes his ongoing health complications, including kidney failure and liver issues, could lead to his death within the year.

In a video shared on his page on Friday, May 1, 2026, Mosiria revealed that he personally intervened after coming across the viral video. He said he reached out to Kioi and worked alongside others to ensure he received help, including facilitating his admission into a rehabilitation facility.

According to Mosiria, concerns had also been raised about Kioi’s struggle with substance use, with some suggesting that addiction had begun affecting his mental health.

“There is a video I saw online of Kioi saying he is sure he will die this year. I asked him what happened and what made him say that, because I believe he can live beyond this year, even many more years,” Mosiria said.

He explained that after engaging Kioi, the TikToker agreed to seek help and take steps toward recovery, including addressing his drug use.

“I have known Kioi from before, when we worked together to help a needy person called Collins, and he has always been supportive. Today we have brought him to a rehab. Kioi has been going through challenges like any other human being, and after I was on a live, some people reached out saying he had developed mental health issues due to addiction,” Mosiria said.

Mosiria further noted that he was part of a team that accompanied Kioi to the rehabilitation centre, expressing hope that the move would mark the beginning of a positive turnaround in his life.

The intervention comes just days after Kioi’s emotional statements, which painted a grim outlook on his health and future, prompting calls for support and assistance from members of the public.

“After following up, he agreed to seek help, and today I am among the team that has brought him to rehab so that he can recover and quit drugs,” Mosiria added.
