Toxic Lyrikali shares life advice after Mosiria takes him to visit Gengetone icon Maddox in rehab

Mboka Doba artiste Toxic Lyrikali has shared an emotional message on the importance of supporting fellow artistes while they are still alive after visiting former Boondocks Gang member Maddox at a rehabilitation centre.

Speaking in a video shared by Mosiria on TikTok on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the ‘Thugnificent’ hitmaker urged young people and artistes to stand by one another during difficult moments rather than waiting until someone dies to show them support.

This came after Mosiria explained that he had been contacted by concerned Kenyans after Maddox was found in a dumpsite in Mirema, where concerns emerged over the artiste’s deteriorating condition and struggles with alcohol and addiction.

“Maddox, about his case, I was called by people after he was found in a dumpsite in Mirema. He was not doing well because of alcohol and addiction,” Mosiria said.

“And I remembered a song Toxic did about dumpsites. So we are in rehab today and here is Toxic. We are in rehab. I brought Toxic so he can advise him. Toxic is the leading artiste in Kenya.”

Toxic then used the opportunity to deliver a wider message to young people, calling for greater solidarity among artistes and friends during periods when they are struggling.

The artiste said people should not wait until their colleagues die before suddenly appearing to support them, stressing that the most important time to stand with someone is when they are going through difficulties.

“And what I would say as a youth is that we should always support each other when we are all alive. Let us not wait till people die and then we start acting like we are supporting them,” Toxic said.

The artiste further urged people to recognise that difficult moments are part of life and that nobody can successfully navigate every challenge alone.

“When someone is down, that is the time to stand with him. No one can live alone in this life. We all need each other,” he said.

Toxic also turned his attention to Mosiria, acknowledging his efforts to support artistes facing difficult circumstances and urging him to continue using his position to help people in the creative industry.

“I also urge Mosiria to keep supporting artistes because life challenges are many,” Toxic said.

He went on to express his appreciation to Mosiria for intervening in Maddox’s situation and helping him access rehabilitation at a time when he was struggling.

“And I am also happy that you supported Maddox,” Toxic said.

The rapper further revealed that he had spoken to people within his network about Maddox’s situation and that they intended to provide him with some items as he continued with his rehabilitation.

“And I talked with my people and they will bring some stuff for Maddox,” he said.

The visit comes as renewed attention focuses on Maddox’s struggles and efforts to help him recover from the challenges that have affected his life in recent years.

Maddox, a former member of Gengetone group Boondocks Gang, has previously attracted concern after being spotted in a distressed condition in Mirema, with reports linking his struggles to alcohol and substance addiction.

His situation has since drawn support from people within the entertainment industry and others who have called for greater efforts to help artistes facing addiction and other personal challenges.
