Mosiria promises Gengetone artiste Maddox a return to stardom after rescuing him

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has assured Gengetone artiste Maddox that his music career is far from over, promising that he will return to the recording studio as a star after beginning rehabilitation.
Mosiria made the remarks on Monday, August 3, 2026, while taking Maddox at the Rapid Rehabilitation Centre for Addiction, where the artiste was admitted after being rescued from the streets.
In an encouraging message, Mosiria urged Maddox to believe in himself and remain focused on his recovery, expressing confidence that he would rebuild both his life and music career.
“Can I promise you something? In the next four or five months you will go back to the studio as a star,” Mosiria promised Maddox.
He further encouraged the Gengetone artiste to embrace the recovery journey ahead, saying self-belief would be key to his transformation.
“Umeanza safari lazima ujikubali,” Mosiria added.
Rescue from the streets
The encouraging words came after Mosiria revealed that he had rescued Maddox from the streets along Mirema Drive following a distress call from a concerned member of the public.
According to Mosiria, the musician had been battling addiction and had been left without a place to call home.
“Last night, I rescued Kenyan Gengetone artist Madoxx from the streets along Mirema Drive after receiving a distress call from a concerned well-wisher. He had been struggling with addiction and had no place to call home,” he said.
He disclosed that Maddox had agreed to seek help and had since been admitted to the Rapid Rehabilitation Centre for Addiction, where he has begun his recovery journey.
Mosiria on drug addiction
Mosiria said addiction should never determine a person’s destiny, stressing that recovery is possible with the right support and treatment.
“Today, Madoxx has been admitted to Rapid Rehabilitation Centre for Addiction, where he has begun his journey to recovery after agreeing to seek help,” he added.
“Addiction should never define a person’s future. With the right support, treatment, and determination, lives can be transformed.”
Additionally, Mosiria also pledged to stand by the artiste throughout his rehabilitation, expressing optimism that he could revive his music career just as others have successfully rebuilt their lives after overcoming addiction.
“I remain committed to walking with Madoxx throughout this journey, just as I did with Martha Njoki, and I believe he can make a full comeback,” Mosiria stated.
