Orengo declares Arsenal will win Champions League in the name of Raila Odinga

Siaya Governor James Orengo has declared that Arsenal will win the Champions League, linking his prediction to the legacy of late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

He made the remarks while speaking about his love for football and his personal life outside politics.

“What do I do for fun? Oh, I love watching football. I support Real Madrid,” James Orengo said while speaking to K24 Plus on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

He explained that despite supporting Real Madrid, he still believes Arsenal have a strong chance in the final. Orengo said the team has reached an important stage after many years. He added that their current form gives them hope of lifting the trophy.

“One word for Arsenal fans? Arsenal this time around, it looks like you are going to get the Champions League,” James Orengo said.

He links Arsenal to Raila Odinga

He further explained that Arsenal are in the final for the first time in many years. Orengo said this moment is special for the club and its supporters. He added that he sees determination in the team as they prepare for the final match.

“But you are in the final, first time in 20 years. So in the name of Raila Amolo Odinga, you are going to win this time,” he said.

He also spoke about his personal life and how people close to him address him. Orengo said his grandchildren call him “babu”, while others know him differently in different places. He added that his identity changes depending on where he is.

“Nickname that my family call me? My grandchildren call me babu, but in the village and all over, my name is Bob,” James Orengo said.

He further reflected on life outside politics and the paths he might have taken. Orengo said he enjoys thinking about different possibilities. He added that he could have pursued other professions if he had not entered politics.

“If I were not in politics, I would be a lawyer,” he said.

He continued by explaining another possible path in life. Orengo said he might have chosen a different calling altogether.

“If not a lawyer, probably a priest,” James Orengo said.
