Nimemfinya, analia: Gachagua celebrates after Ruto’s outburst
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has celebrated President William Ruto’s outburst witnessed on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, when he fired salvos at several opposition politicians.
Speaking during a public engagement event in Mau Narok, Nakuru County, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the Democracy for the Citizens leader celebrated Ruto’s remarks, likening him to a cornered rat making noise.

“Nimemfinya analia kama panya (I have pressed him hard to a point of crying like a rat),” Gachagua told the crowd.
Gachagua claims he provoked Ruto
He promised not to relent as he faces off with the president, making it clear that his intention is to keep exposing Ruto’s administration.
The former Mathira Member of Parliament noted that Ruto’s reaction is unpresidential and took credit for it, claiming that he provoked the present to descend to a level where he is not expected to get to by virtue of his office.
“Sasa nimeona umekasirika vile nilitaka. Mimi nilitaka ukasirike, you lose your temper, you lose your cool, you stop being presidential. I can see he is angry as I wanted, He has stopped being presidential, getting to the level that I wanted),” he added.
Gachagua stated that out of anger, Ruto has descended low to discuss who has a wife, turning to propaganda peddled by bloggers.
“Sasa Kasongo ameteremka mahali nilikuwa namtaka. Ameteremka chini. He is no longer presidential. Amekuwa mtu wa propaganda na fitina,” he added.
This loosely translates to: Kasongo is angry and has reached where I wanted him to be. He is no longer presidential. He is now peddling rumours and propaganda”.
Ruto fires at the opposition
He attacked the opposition in Cheptais, Mt. Elgon, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, when he advised opposition leaders to focus on fitness, accusing them of eating too much food and sleeping in meetings.
“Kwanza nawaambia baadhi yenu mwende gym; acheni kula chakula kingi. Matumbo yamejaa hadi vichwa vinakaribia kupasuka. Mnalala kwenye mikutano hata mchana,” Ruto said.
Next on the firing line was a politician who Ruto advised to build a house, get a wife and focus on buying diapers, claiming that he has largely been surviving on inheritance.
