Gospel singer Mr Seed has spoken publicly for the first time about the terrifying road accident he was involved in on New Year’s Day, revealing how close he and his loved ones came to losing their lives.

In a video message shared on TikTok on Saturday, January 3, 2026, the ‘Kumbe Kumbe’ hitmaker thanked well-wishers who had reached out to check on him and his family, assuring them that everyone involved in the crash was safe.

“Hi, guys. I just want to say thank you to everybody who has been reaching out to find out if we are okay. I want you to know that we are okay; we are alive,” Mr Seed said.

Recounting the incident, the singer explained that the accident occurred on January 1 at around 10:30 pm in Siaya as he was driving to Siaya town for a club appearance.

He said he was accompanied by his wife, Nimo, as well as two friends who were seated in the back of the car.

According to Mr Seed, their vehicle was hit by another car whose occupants were speeding in a poorly lit section of the road.

“We were driving towards Siaya town, and these guys were coming from Siaya town in the direction we had come from. That section of the road was very dark, and they were overspeeding badly. They nearly hit us head-on,” he narrated.

He recalled that Nimo, who was seated beside him, noticed the danger first and warned him about the oncoming vehicle.

“My wife was seated on the side, and she told me these guys were driving badly. I thought they would pass, but they did not,” he said.

Mr Seed added that he was forced to make a split-second decision to avoid a head-on collision, but swerving too far would have sent the car into a ditch.

“I tried to swerve, but on the other side, there was a ditch, and I would have rolled. I swerved just enough, and they had some space left. They hit our side mirror, broke it, crashed one side of the car, and even broke the tyre. It was so bad,” he explained.

The singer admitted that he was left in shock following the impact, noting that the damage to the vehicle was extensive.

However, he emphasised that no life was lost.

“We had two friends in the car, Tyso and his wife, who were seated at the back. I say God is good because we are alive. Only the car was mangled, but a car cannot be compared to life,” he said.

Mr Seed further revealed that the occupants of the other vehicle were drunk, claiming they caused chaos at the scene after the crash.

“These guys were so drunk. We even have videos; they were speaking badly and causing drama. That night was messed up,” he added.

Despite the ordeal, the gospel singer said he was grateful that everyone walked away alive and used the moment to caution motorists against reckless behaviour on the road.

“The most important thing is life. Guys, please be careful out there. Drivers, stop drinking and driving,” he urged.

The couple first posted about the accident on Friday, January 2, 2026, sharing their gratitude for surviving the near-fatal crash.

“If you would tell me this is how my year would start, singeamini… Still unbelievable. “Thank you, God, for preserving our lives,” Mr Seed’s wife, Nimo, wrote at the time.
