Mosiria promises Mbavu Destroyer job after fight with Majembe

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has pledged full support to Mbavu the Destroyer, promising a personal role for the fighter after his upcoming bout with Majembe.

Speaking during a TikTok live session on Sunday, February 8, 2026, Mosiria revealed that he had personally enrolled Mbavu in a gym and assigned him a personal trainer, ensuring he gets proper preparation ahead of the fight.

He said that Mbavu will not go back to his past job, where he worked as a construction worker, and that the mentorship and support he is receiving will provide him with both a career path and a stable livelihood.

“Huyu jamaa atarudi kwa mjengo? Sio shida. Lakini mwisho wa game, nitamchunga. Atakuwa bodyguard wangu,” he said.

Mosiria praised Mbavu Destroyer’s dedication and raw talent, noting that while the fighter excelled in street fighting, he lacked formal ring experience.

“Nilionaa Mbavu Destroyer hana mtu wa kumsupport, nikaona nicome through kwa sababu ako na skill, lakini skill zake ni za ughetoo za kupigana street fight, lakini hana skill ya kupigana kwa ring,” Mosiria said.

Mosiria also discussed the Ksh1 million cash prize pledged by President William Ruto to each fighter. He revealed that Mbavu plans to invest the funds into his training and personal development rather than spending recklessly, signalling discipline and focus on growth.

Mbavu himself confirmed the plan, adding that he intends to use part of the money to build a house for his mother, showing his commitment to family and long-term goals.

“Mokoro lazma askie fiti lazma ni mjengee” he noted.

The fight between Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer began as viral banter and online trash talk, with both fighters posting challenges and responses that drew thousands of reactions.

Mbavu has consistently showcased his intense workouts and training updates on social media, while comedian and media personality Oga Obinna, the organiser, has amplified the hype around the showdown.
