Majembe sets condition for Mandonga after boxing challenge request

Kenyan boxer Portifas Odipo, better known as Majembe, has responded to Tanzanian fighter Karim Mandonga, aka Mtu kazi, after the latter issued a boxing challenge, setting clear conditions before he can accept the proposed bout.
In his response shared on Monday, April 13, 2026, Majembe said he is open to the challenge but insisted that Mandonga must first meet specific weight requirements before any fight can be considered.
The Vurugu Night Fight winner added that he currently weighs around 76 kg and suggested that Mandonga should cut down from his current weight to either 77 kg or 80 kg.
Majembe further noted that he is also willing to adjust his own weight if necessary, stating that he could go up to 80 kg if Mandonga’s weight reduces to 80kg.
“Mandonga mtu kazi pia amenichallenge, a lose weight akitaka challenge. Mimi niko 76 kg, kata weight ukuje 77kg hapo ama 80kg mimi nitaongeza hadi 80 kg,” Majembe said.

The Majembe’s remarks come after Mandonga publicly challenged him to a boxing match.
