Majembe tells Shakib to stop calling himself the world’s best boxer, challenges him to fight

Boxer Majembe has thrown down a bold challenge to Ugandan socialite Shakib Cham, calling for a winner-takes-all boxing showdown after the Ugandan’s victory over Kenyan musician Arrow Bwoy at the recently concluded Vurugu 2 event.

Speaking in a TikTok video on Friday, June 26, 2026, Majembe said he wants Shakib to face him in the ring so they can finally settle who is the better fighter.

The boxer proposed that they both put their championship belts on the line, with the winner walking away with both titles.

According to Majembe, he is ready to risk the belt he won during Vurugu 1, while challenging Shakib to bring the belt he believes he deserved after defeating Arrow Bwoy.

“Shakib, I heard you complaining that you were not given the Vurugu belt after thrashing Arrow Bwoy. And you won the match. So I want us to make a deal, the two of us. You know I have a belt I won from Vurugu 1, and I will dangle it, and you can dangle yours. We fight for them,” he said.

Majembe acknowledged that Shakib’s victory over Arrow Bwoy was deserved, saying Kenyans had accepted the outcome because the contest had been conducted fairly.

He, however, insisted that the Ugandan now needed to prove himself against another accomplished boxer.

“Because you beat our own Arrow Bwoy, we accept that. So I wanted you to face me in a free and fair challenge. If you beat me, you go away with my belt, and if I beat you, I get yours,” he added.

The boxer went on to express confidence in his own abilities, boldly declaring that he does not believe Shakib can defeat him inside the ring.

According to Majembe, both fighters possess strong boxing records, making the proposed contest one that fans would eagerly anticipate.

“Because I am 100 per cent sure you cannot beat me. You beat our own Arrow Bwoy; we accepted because it was free and fair. Now come and face me, because I have a good record in boxing, and you do too. So let’s face each other and see the winner,” he said.

Majembe further argued that a fight between the two would generate enormous public interest and attract fans eager to find out who truly deserves to be regarded as the superior boxer.

He also took issue with remarks attributed to Shakib in which the Ugandan referred to himself as the world’s best boxer.

According to Majembe, such a title can only be earned inside the ring.

“And I am saying this because I know a match between me and you would have all people wanting to watch, and they would like to see who is the best between you and me. But I don’t like that you called yourself the best boxer in the world. Come and accept the challenge if you feel you are strong,” he concluded.

Majembe’s challenge comes just days after Shakib delivered one of the biggest upsets of Vurugu 2, overpowering Kenyan musician Arrow Bwoy in a celebrity boxing contest held at the Sarit Expo Centre in Westlands, Nairobi.

The highly anticipated fight attracted significant attention before fight night due to the growing rivalry between the two entertainers.

Once the opening bell rang, however, Shakib wasted little time imposing himself on the contest.

The Ugandan launched an aggressive attack early in the fight, catching Arrow Bwoy off guard and forcing the Kenyan musician onto the defensive almost immediately.

Despite attempts to respond, Arrow Bwoy struggled to recover as Shakib maintained relentless pressure throughout the contest.

The bout eventually ended in a technical knockout, with Shakib being declared the winner after dominating the fight.

Arrow Bwoy’s wife, Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami, was among those present at the venue to support her husband and was later seen reacting emotionally following his defeat.
