Hossam Hassan: Egypt is ready to face anyone
Egypt coach Hossam Hassan has maintained a bullish view of the African nation’s prospects, affirming their readiness to take on any opponent in the ongoing World Cup.
The Pharaohs claimed their maiden victory in the World Cup stage, winning 3-1 against New Zealand in Vancouver on Monday, June 22, 2026. before capping the historical feat with qualification to the knockout stages on Saturday, June 27, 2027’s battling draw against Iran in Seattle.
Speaking after the draw, Hassan, a renowned former international and the nation’s all-time goalscorer, lauded the achievements as a proud moment for their motherland and its people.
“We are proud to have gone unbeaten in the group stage, even though it was tough, as I have said since the beginning. It is an honour to progress to the next round. I would like to thank my players because they have brought immense joy to our fans.

Their round of 32 clash will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2026, at the Dallas Stadium.
