Born Again Evangelism Church preacher Maina Wa OTC has officially been ordained to the office of Bishop, while his wife, Pastor Esther, has been elevated to begin serving formally as a Reverend.

The two were ordained during a colourful ceremony presided over by Archbishop Harrison Nganga at the church’s headquarters in Ruai on Sunday, May 9, 2026.

The glamorous event kicked off with a lively procession led by the church choir before Maina and his wife made a grand entrance into the venue aboard separate vehicles, waving to congregants and guests through the sunroofs as jubilant crowds cheered them on.

The ordination ceremony attracted several prominent politicians, clergy members, and celebrities, among them former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Victor Kanyari of Salvation Healing Ministry, and Facebook influencer Karangu Muraya, among others.

Following the ceremony, Maina shared a thanksgiving message on social media, describing the ordination as the beginning of a new chapter in his spiritual journey and ministry work. He noted that he had been called by faith and consecrated for service, adding that the day marked a major milestone in his life and that of his wife.

“A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in His time (Isaiah 60:22). Called by faith and consecrated for service… a new chapter has officially begun,” he wrote.

The preacher also expressed gratitude to religious leaders and guests who attended the ceremony, saying their presence had made the occasion more meaningful and inspiring to both him and the congregation.

“I would like to sincerely express my heartfelt gratitude to our respected leaders for honouring us with their presence today. Your participation inspired many people and made this occasion even more meaningful. Mbarikiwe sana,” he added.

Maina went on to specially appreciate Gachagua for attending the ceremony, stating that the former Deputy President’s presence brought honour and significance to the event. He further acknowledged the support, encouragement, and leadership shown to him during the special occasion.

“Special thanks to H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH, for gracing my event with your esteemed presence. Your attendance brought great honour and significance to this special day. Your support, encouragement, and inspiring leadership are deeply appreciated. Mungu akubariki sana. Congratulations to the newest Bishop and Reverend in town,” he wrote.
