‘I am now a ‘queenpin’ – Millie Odhiambo reacts after being feted in Australia

Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has added another feather to her cap after being feted in Australia.

The lawmaker who is outside the country celebrated the achievement on social media, hailing herself as Queenpin.

She revealed that she was crowned Legetyo, House of Mumbi, and Ligisa Queen, three crowns that make her a queenpin.

“Men have been all over ATI; they are kingpins. I was also crowned Legetyo, House of Mumbi, and Ligisa Queen. I am now a queenpin,” she wrote on Facebook on Monday, March 16, 2026.

The vocal lawmaker was feted at a glamorous International Women’s Day event in Adelaide, Australia.

The event was organised by Legetyo Queens in collaboration with House of Mumbi and brought together champions of women’s empowerment.

Keeping in touch with development

Despite being out of the country, the lawmaker has been following events in Kenya closely and used his social media profiles to comment on the tribulations of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju.

She lauded leaders for standing in solidarity with Tuju, adding that she would have wished to join them.

According to Millie, Kenya is heading in the wrong direction, with gangster culture taking root under the watch of authorities.

“I am happy to see leaders coming out in solidarity with Hon Tuju. I am out of the country and would have wished to join them, but I repeat what I said a few days ago: that what is going on is wrong,” Millie said.

Millie Odhiambo calls out gangster culture

The MP has, in the recent past, expressed her concerns that Kenya may soon find itself needing the support of other countries to fight gangs like those in Haiti.

She cited two recent cases to add weight to her concerns and called for an immediate end to the worrying trend.

The lawmaker faulted authorities for tolerating the individuals behind the raids, calling them gangsters and raising the alarm over the trend.

“The rise of Gangster culture tolerated by authority will haunt Kenya. 100 gangsters were used to try to evict a businessman from the premises in Kisumu. Similar gangsters were used to hound Hon Tuju yesterday. Soon, like Haiti, we might need other nations,” she stated on March 12, 2026.
