Hates food: Manzi Wa Mombasa shares growth update on child she named after Brian Chira

Popular TikToker Manzi Wa Mombasa has shared an update on the growth and eating habits of her child, whom she named after the late Kenyan TikToker and HIV advocate Brian Chira.

Speaking in a TikTok video on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, she revealed that the child, affectionately called Baby Chira, has been refusing to eat despite her efforts.

“Hi guys, this is Baby Chira. Today he is eating greens, ugali, and vegetables. I have tried my best to feed him, but he keeps refusing food,” she said.

She explained that while she prepares meals including greens, ugali, and vegetables, the child often plays with the food, pouring it on the sofa. However, she added that Baby Chira still eats afterwards, showing a preference for feeding himself rather than being fed.

“I even tried cutting the ugali into small pieces and mixing it with the cabbage, but it did not work. Now, what he does is play with the food and pour it on the sofa,” she shared.

Manzi Wa Mombasa described her attempts to encourage him to eat, including cutting the ugali into small pieces and mixing it with vegetables, but noted that these efforts have largely been unsuccessful.

She reassured followers that she is not worried when he picks the food from the sofa, as it is clean, and said the situation demonstrates the child’s independence and determination to feed himself.

“The good thing is that he still eats it afterwards. Because the sofa is clean, I am not worried when he picks up the food from there. That is how he eats, and it seems like he likes to feed himself. He has refused to be fed,” Manzi Wa Mombasa said.

Brian Chira, after whom the child is named, was a popular content creator on TikTok and a well-known advocate for people living with HIV.

He tragically passed away on March 16, 2024, in a hit-and-run accident in Kiambu County at the age of 23.

Manzi Wa Mombasa was part of Chira’s inner circle, which included popular creators such as LGBTQ TikToker Jude Magambo, known as Manzi Wa Meru, Mombasa influencer Chesoni, and several others.
