Gospel singer Mary Lincon has announced that she will return for a Thanksgiving event at Bishop Mwangi Zakayo’s Kamutiini Priesthood Church, where she formerly ministered before starting her own church, Priesthood Pi-Hahirothu.

Speaking in a Facebook video on Friday, May 15, 2026, the singer revealed that she will return specifically on May 24, 2026, as her church officially turns one year old in what will also be an anniversary event.

Mary, who started as an evangelist before being ordained as a reverend, also appealed to all her fans to join her during the event, saying she hopes to show her appreciation to Mwangi Zakayo for the guidance he has given her.

“You will take me on the 24th at my father Bishop Mwangi Zakayo’s church to give thanks for our first anniversary. Celebrating one year since I started the Pi Hahirothu priesthood church ministry. It will be 24th May at Kamutiini for the anniversary thanksgiving,” she wrote.

Ordination ceremony

Previously, K24 Digital reported that the ‘Haria Ndaguire’ hitmaker was elevated to the office of Reverend in a moving ceremony held at her church on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The ordination was conducted by Priesthood Church Kamutiini’s head pastor, Bishop Mwangi Zakayo, and the church’s founder, Bishop Emeritus Gitahi Maina Wangari.

The event started with pomp and colour, with the bishops arriving in a fleet of high-end cars before being ushered into the front seats of the church.

In a livestream shared on her Facebook page, a number of other preachers, alongside JJ Gitahi, were seen surrounding her and praying fervently as the ordination process began.

Bishop Mwangi Zakayo could be seen kneeling in front of her, where a basin was placed, and washing her feet as another preacher read scriptures about the process of anointment.

Bishop Zakayo then added holy oil and salt, mixing it with the water as he continued to pray for God to intervene in the process.

“And now I add oil to this water. I mix the oil and water so we can proceed with this ordination. And I will also add salt because you said that, oh God, you are the salt of the world. And if salt lacks taste, it is thrown away,” Zakayo said.

The ordination then took a heated pace as all evangelists, who were at the front, started praying loudly, with some speaking in tongues, as Bishop Mwangi Zakayo sprinkled the oil and water mixture on Mary’s feet.

In the video, Mary could be seen crying and wiping tears as a female Reverend helped her dry her feet following the ordination, which involved soaking them in the water for close to five minutes.

Mary Lincon was then dressed in fresh robes as a Reverend, and the congregation erupted in cheers.
