Bishop Mwangi Zakayo issues final warning to people spreading rumours about him
Kamutiini Priesthood preacher Bishop Mwangi Zakayo has issued a stern warning to individuals spreading rumours and gossip about him, urging them to stop meddling in his personal and spiritual life.
In a video shared on his TikTok page on Thursday, April 2, 2026, the cleric addressed the issue publicly, emphasising that much of what is being circulated about him is false and without any factual basis.
“Stop gossiping, please. Stop focusing so much on wanting to know and backbite into other people’s lives,” Mwangi said.
According to Bishop Zakayo, some people have taken to backbiting and spreading stories about him to create the impression that they know the details of his journey and spiritual experiences. He stressed that such claims are not only baseless but can also mislead others into questioning his character.
“Focus on your own life. Leave me alone and leave my life out of your gossip. You do not know me, and you cannot know where I have come from or how my journey with God started,” he added.
The bishop noted that gossipers often present themselves as trustworthy while disseminating false information, causing their targets to doubt themselves.
He cautioned that many of these rumours are nothing more than fabricated tales, shared by individuals with sweet tongues who manipulate others into believing them.
“I wonder how some people can gossip and backbite about someone to the point that others feel like they were present when the things being said actually happened. There are people who can make claims that you are a bad person until you start questioning yourself,” he said.

Bishop Zakayo urged people to focus on their own lives instead of trying to uncover the details of someone else’s journey. He described the persistent spread of gossip as a habit that must end and said those responsible should redirect their energy toward personal growth.
“Some spread gossip, but when you check the source, there is no truth in it. There are people gifted with sweet tongues who can make church gossip sound believable, and those are the backbiters I am addressing now,” he added.
He also highlighted that the success and well-being he currently enjoys are the result of God’s grace, not the work of human manipulation or deception.
The bishop emphasised that achievements and progress in his life come from divine intervention and not from public approval or attention.
“I am telling them that their time is over. Focus on your own matters. Where do you get these fake stories from? From now on, before sharing gossip, make sure it is true. Leave people alone. If you see us shining and things going well, know that it is through God’s grace,” Zakayo lashed.
