Eunice Njeri: Inside the journey of Kenya’s gospel powerhouse
Eunice Njeri is one of Kenya’s most cherished gospel worship ministers, known for her powerful voice and ability to lead deep, heartfelt worship.
Her journey in music began in church, where she sang from a young age. For several years, she served quietly in her local church before stepping into the spotlight.
Her major breakthrough came 11 years ago in 2015 with the release of the powerful worship song “Nani Kama Wewe”.
The song became an instant classic and remains one of her biggest hits to date, amassing over 33 million views on YouTube.
Its simple yet profound lyrics questioning “Who is like You, Lord?” resonated deeply with Kenyan Christians and quickly spread across East Africa.

Before “Nani Kama Wewe,” Eunice had released her first single “, Ulibeba,” around 2014, which helped introduce her to a wider audience. However, it was the 2015 hit that firmly established her as a leading voice in Kenyan gospel music.
Over the past decade, she has released several other impactful songs, including “Unitetee”, “Msaidizi”, “Nakupenda”, “Mteule”, and “Wewe Ni Mungu”.
Her style blends contemporary worship with traditional Kenyan sounds, creating emotionally rich songs suited for both personal devotion and large crusades.
Collaborations and reach
Eunice has collaborated with several top gospel artistes such as Moji Shortbabaa, Mussie Fisseha, the late Betty Bayo, Evelyn Wanjiru and M.O.G.
These collaborations have produced memorable worship moments that continue to be sung in churches across the region.

She has been active in the gospel music industry for over 12 years. Throughout her career, she has earned multiple nominations and recognition at the Groove Awards, especially in the Female Artist and Worship Song categories.
She remains one of the most requested female worship leaders in Kenya and Tanzania.
On the personal side, Eunice waited many years for marriage. After a brief marriage in 2016 that lasted only 24 hours, she later married Muthii in 2021. In 2022, at age 38, she was blessed with a baby boy, a moment she describes as God’s miracle.
