Tahidi High actor OJ addresses viral video filmed at local pub

Former Tahidi High actor Dennis Mugo, known as OJ, has addressed a viral video filmed at a local pub after footage of him there made the rounds on social media.
The video showed OJ spending time at the pub with his friends, leading to attention from several social media users. OJ has now responded to the continued sharing of the footage and criticised the response.
OJ said he has always enjoyed spending time with his friends and does not consider the footage something that should be used to tarnish his name. He also thanked media houses that continued sharing what he described as footage of his good times. The former Tahidi High actor said he was aware of the reports and had become used to such situations.
“I thank all of these media houses still spreading footage of my good times. I have always had fun wherever I am with my friends. The continued support of rumourmongering and ill-motivated spreading by some so-called media stations is not only unwelcome but. Tushazoea,” OJ said on Monday, August 3, 2026.
OJ speaks on media coverage
OJ also questioned the professionalism of journalists covering the video and said professional standards should guide media houses. He addressed those reporting on the footage as they continued with their work as journalists. OJ said he hoped they would approach their work with professionalism.
“As you proceed with your great ambitions to be journalists. May you be guided by professionalism and may your hate speech be well respected by those that give a hoot,” OJ said.
The actor went on to make a sarcastic remark about any attempts to tarnish his name through the continued sharing of the footage. He said he would not allow the situation to change how he chooses to live his life. OJ maintained that he would continue doing things his own way despite the reports.
He further made it clear that he intends to continue with his life despite the attention surrounding the video. OJ said he would not be changing his approach because of the clip being shared. His response ended with a message showing that he plans to remain focused on himself.
“I, on the other hand, shall continue to do me,” OJ said.
