It is the miraculous reconciliation that music fans across the globe thought they would never see.

After 15 years of bitter chart battles, toxic social media exchanges, and harrowing snubs, Diamond Platnumz and Alikiba appear to have finally reached a staggering turning point.

The two titans of Tanzanian music – who have spent over a decade fighting for the undisputed title of King of Bongo Flava – are thawing their legendary beef in favour of a world-shaking collaboration.

Speaking in a raw and unfiltered interview this April 2026, Diamond – affectionately known as Simba – sensationally opened the door to a partnership that would shatter the African entertainment landscape.

Ditching the ‘primary school games’ that have plagued their relationship since 2012, Diamond issued a soul-stirring plea for musical unity.

Mimi sina tatizo, kama yeye akiwa sawa tutafanya. Mimi nishawai kumuombanga [collabo] mwenyewe pia tufanye,” Diamond admitted, revealing he has personally reached out to his rival in the past.

Yani kwa nini tusifanye, tufanye watu wangependa kuskia, dunia ingependa kuskia na itafika mbali zaidi. So mimi sina tatizo, anytime,” he added.

The shocking statement follows years of chilling distance between the pair, who famously avoided even a simple handshake while sharing a political stage for President Samia Suluhu in late 2025.

The thaw comes after a vicious 15-year history that began with a petty 2012 snub.

Alikiba previously claimed the war started when he declined to feature Diamond on his hit ‘Single Boy’, a move that is said to have led to Diamond feeding misleading information to bitter bloggers.

As Diamond rose to stardom, he dethroned Alikiba as the most sought-after artiste in Tanzania, leading to a decade-long subtle battle that further alienated the music superstars.

The rivalry reached explosive levels in 2017, when Diamond’s Wasafi crew launched a calculated ambush, releasing the track ‘Zilipendwa’ just hours after Alikiba’s ‘Seduce Me’ in a vile attempt to drown out his rival’s comeback.

By 2019, the feud turned hateful when Alikiba publicly blasted Diamond on Instagram, telling him to stop playing games and threatening to expose him if he continued to bother him with invitations to perform at Wasafi festivals.

However, as of April 2026, the professional cold war seems to have matured.

Alikiba recently rattled netizens by echoing Diamond’s sentiments, stating there is no personal grudge and that the friction was always about musical dominance rather than soul-crushing animosity.

Some claim that the staggering rise of international genres like Afrobeats and Amapiano may have forced the two Bongo Flava architects to realise that a united front is the only way to maintain their global relevance.

Whether Diamond Platnumz and Alikiba will actually step into a studio together remains the most-talked-about mystery of the year.

But as the bitterness of the last decade fades into a professional truce, the message to the music world is chillingly clear: the 15-year war is over and a collaboration might finally be within reach.
