Rapper King Kaka has opened up about a part of his past, revealing that he once bought and resold stolen phones.

On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, he admitted he is not proud of that period in his life but said it is part of his story and something he experienced while growing up.

The musician explained that he used to work as a broker for stolen phones in his neighbourhood. According to him, the phones were bought because they looked new before they were later sold to people in town. He shared the story while reflecting on his past.

“Kila mtu aliibiwa simu hiyo time, I am sorry. So there is a rule ya wizi, so going back…I am not so proud of this story but ahh I lived it,” King Kaka said.

He went on to explain that his role involved buying the stolen phones before they were resold. He said the devices they looked for were those that appeared to be in good condition because they would be easier to sell.

“Mimi nilikua broker wa simu. I used to buy stolen phones back in the hood. I used to buy phones that look new, because we used to sell to people in town,” King Kaka explained.

During the interview, King Kaka said the health battle remains the biggest turning point in his life. He explained that when he was asked to name the moment that transformed him the most, his near-death experience was the first thing that came to mind.

“The closest one is me dying,” King Kaka said.

He also recalled how his condition became so serious that he believed he would not survive. According to the rapper, he accepted what he thought would happen and decided to leave home for the hospital because he did not want to die in front of his family.

“It reached a point where I said, ‘It’s cool. I think this is it. I’m going to die.’ I accepted it and looked for a hospital because I didn’t want to die in the house,” King Kaka explained.
