Zack Apela’s family finally unveils his body after TikTokers demanded proof of his death

The family of late Kenyan TikToker Zack Apela on Saturday, July 11, 2026, held an emotional memorial service in the United States that culminated in a public body viewing streamed live on TikTok, allowing thousands of Kenyan followers to finally view his body after days of online speculation over his whereabouts.

The emotional ceremony was attended by Zack’s widow, close relatives, friends and members of the Kenyan community living in the United States, many of whom broke down in tears as they paid their final respects to the popular content creator.

The sombre occasion began with funeral attendants carefully removing Zack’s brown casket from a black hearse before carrying it into what appeared to be a memorial hall.

Once inside, the casket was placed at the front of the hall, with its upper section opened to allow mourners to view Zack’s body one final time.

As family members gathered around the casket, emotional scenes unfolded as they offered prayers, comforted one another and quietly viewed his remains.

Several mourners, including close relatives and friends, were seen breaking down in tears as they struggled to come to terms with Zack’s death.

His widow also stood beside the casket during the emotional farewell, joining other family members in paying tribute to the late TikToker.

The body viewing was simultaneously streamed live on TikTok, enabling thousands of Kenyans who had followed Zack during his lifetime to witness the emotional farewell from different parts of the world.

Throughout the livestream, viewers flooded the comments section with condolence messages, prayers and emotional tributes, with many expressing heartbreak after finally seeing Zack’s body.

The memorial service later continued with prayers, hymns and words of encouragement as relatives reflected on Zack’s life and the impact he had on those around him.

TikTokers’ questions

The emotional ceremony comes days after a section of Kenyan TikTokers openly questioned whether Zack had indeed died after expressing concerns that the family had not disclosed where his body was being kept.

Several content creators, including Emmy America, Collins Omondi, Diana Rose and Mali Safi, had called on Zack’s brother, Dr Solo, to publicly reveal the location of the body, with some insisting they would only continue contributing towards the family’s fundraiser after viewing his remains.

Some also questioned why no members of the Kenyan community in the United States had publicly confirmed seeing the body, further fuelling online speculation.

The latest memorial service and livestreamed body viewing appeared to put those concerns to rest after Zack’s remains were publicly viewed by relatives, friends and thousands of followers watching online.

The development also comes days after Dr Solo announced that Zack would be buried at his ancestral home in Ahero, Kisumu County, while revealing that the family requires approximately Ksh4.5 million to repatriate his body from the United States.
