New Life Prayer Centre and Church founder Pastor Ezekiel Odero has advised people not to forget God after experiencing breakthroughs, saying some struggles begin when individuals distance themselves from the same God who lifted them.

Speaking in a TikTok video on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Pastor Odero said some people become committed to seeking God when they are struggling, but change after receiving blessings such as jobs, healing or financial success.

The preacher said some individuals abandon their faith after their prayers are answered, only to later find themselves facing difficulties.

“You got blessed and found a job, but left Christ, and now you are falling. You got blessed, and you were healed, but you left Christ, and now you are falling. You were blessed, and your child got a scholarship, but you stopped going to church,” Pastor Odero said.

He questioned why some people stop making time for God after receiving the very blessings they had prayed for, saying excuses about distance or being busy often replace the commitment they had during difficult seasons.

“The church you keep talking about is far from where you stay. It is like me now claiming fasting is hard or going to buy things for God is hard, and all I want is to sit and eat,” he said.

Pastor Odero reminded believers that many people become more devoted when they are seeking help, recalling how some go through periods of prayer, fasting and humility while asking God to change their situations.

“But when I was crying to God to lift me, I was fasting and praying, and I was so humble to God,” he said.

The preacher urged those who have drifted away after experiencing success to return to their faith and reconnect with God, saying they should remember the source of their blessings.

“Please, no, my son. Go back to the God who lifted you and who gave you that job,” Pastor Odero said.

He further claimed that some people continue struggling despite earning money because they have lost their spiritual connection.

“That is why you are suffering, and that is why you lost your job. That is why you get money, but the money is not helping you. It is just a piece of advice,” he added.
