Salasya says he’ll marry all his wives from the mud house built by constituents

Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has revealed that he intends to keep the mud house built for him by his constituents, saying it holds sentimental value and will play a special role in his future family life.
In a statement shared on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the outspoken lawmaker said he will marry all his wives from that house because it represents the faith, sacrifice, and support of the people who stood by him before he was elected to Parliament.
“God is so faithful. This house is so special to me and to my people. This house will never be demolished. I will marry all my wives from this house,” Salasya declared.
The legislator explained that despite constructing a larger modern home, he has no plans to bring down the modest house because it reminds him of his humble beginnings and the journey he has taken in politics.
Salasya on marriage
Salasya has, on several occasions, spoken openly about his intention to practise polygamy, saying he hopes to marry several wives in the future.
His latest remarks suggest that he wants every one of his future wives to be welcomed into the family from the same house, which he considers a symbol of God’s faithfulness and the unwavering support of his constituents.
Mud house
The mud house was built for Salasya in 2022 after residents of Mumias East came together to help him when they realised he did not have a house of his own during his parliamentary campaign. At the time, supporters pooled resources and constructed the semi-permanent house, a gesture the MP has repeatedly described as one of the greatest acts of kindness he has ever received.
“By the grace of God, I stand humbled and grateful for His faithfulness. In 2022, my constituents came together in unity and helped construct this house. Their kindness and support reminded me that when God unites His people, great things are possible,” Salasya wrote.
The MP is currently putting the finishing touches on a new mansion at his rural home, a project he has previously described as a future political hub in Western Kenya.
Despite the new development, he insists the mud house will remain standing because of its emotional and historical significance.
