Salasya recalls how constituents came together to build his house after mocking Sifuna’s Bungoma home

Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has revealed that his constituents helped construct his house in 2022, days after repeatedly mocking Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s Bungoma home following the senator’s homecoming, which went viral on social media.
In a social media post shared on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Salasya said he remains humbled by the support he received from residents, saying their generosity demonstrated what can be achieved when a community comes together.
“By the grace of God, I stand humbled and grateful for His faithfulness. In 2022, my constituents came together in unity and helped construct this house. Their kindness and support reminded me that when God unites His people, great things are possible,” Salasya wrote.
According to Salasya, the support he received from residents strengthened his belief in community service and inspired him to dedicate his efforts to helping vulnerable members of society.
He said that since his own house was built, he has overseen the construction of several homes for disadvantaged families, particularly widows and orphans, describing each project as a reflection of God’s mercy and provision.
“Since then, the Lord has enabled me to build many homes for vulnerable families, especially widows and orphans, fulfilling His call to care for those in need. Every house built is a testimony of God’s love, mercy, and provision,” he added.
Salasya’s new mansion
The outspoken legislator added that the completion of what he referred to as the “Kisumundogo State House” has motivated him to expand the initiative even further.
“Now that the Kisumundogo State House is complete, I believe God is calling me to do even more. With His guidance and strength, I am committed to doubling the number of homes we build for vulnerable families,” the MP wrote.
Salasya also cited Proverbs 19:17, which says, “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done,” adding that he hopes to continue serving vulnerable families through housing initiatives.
He concluded his message by praying for God’s continued blessings upon his community and asking for unity among residents.
“May God continue to bless our community, strengthen our unity, and use us as instruments of hope, compassion, and transformation. To Him alone be all the glory,” he wrote.
Salasya’s latest revelation has reignited conversations online, with many users contrasting his acknowledgement that constituents helped build his home with his recent criticism of Sifuna’s Bungoma residence.
While some praised the MP for recognising the role his supporters played in his journey, others urged political leaders to focus less on personal lifestyles and more on development initiatives that directly benefit wananchi.
