Football star Cristiano Ronaldo‘s partner, Georgina Rodríguez, has spoken out after facing online criticism over her appearance, saying a woman’s value should never be measured by her body or by the opinions of strangers.

The model and businesswoman shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram page on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, reflecting on the comments she has received in recent days after photos of her enjoying time on a boat circulated online.

In the post, Georgina admitted that while some people criticised her body, others came to her defence, prompting her to address the conversation publicly.

‘My body will continue to change’

Georgina began by embracing the natural changes that come with life, saying she hopes her body keeps changing because it is a sign that she is still living.

She also reflected on being a mother and the lessons she hopes to pass on to her children, especially her daughters.

“My body will change, just as every woman’s body changes. And I hope it continues to do so for many years because that will mean I’m still living,” Georgina wrote.

She added that she wants her children to grow up knowing that self-worth should never depend on appearance or public opinion.

Ronaldo’s words gave her reassurance

The mother of six revealed that she discussed the online criticism with Cristiano Ronaldo, admitting that she was concerned because her public image is part of her career.

However, she said the football star reminded her that people admire her for much more than her appearance.

“I told Cris, ‘I’m worried that people are calling me fat now because my image is part of my career.’ He replied, ‘You don’t make a living from your appearance. You make a living from who you are. You’re a wonderful woman, a loving mother, successful, and someone who lives life with love. It’s only natural that some people will envy you,’” Georgina shared.

She said the conversation reminded her of what truly matters and helped her stay focused on the important things in life.

‘I work out because it makes me happy’

Georgina also addressed assumptions about her fitness, explaining that exercising has never been about trying to achieve a certain body shape.

Instead, she said it brings her happiness, peace of mind and good health. “I work out because it makes me happy. It gives me health, discipline, energy and well-being. It has never been about losing weight. It has always been about taking care of myself,” she said.

She added that she loves her body, including its natural curves, because it has carried her through every stage of life.

A message about self-worth

Concluding her message, Georgina encouraged people not to let unrealistic beauty standards define how they see themselves.

She questioned who decides what the “perfect” body should look like, insisting that happiness cannot be measured by size or appearance.

“Real success has never been about fitting into a standard that nobody even knows who invented. Real success is living in peace, surrounding myself with the people I love, taking care of my health, laughing, learning and living,” Georgina concluded.

Her message has resonated with many fans online, with many praising her for promoting self-acceptance and reminding women that confidence comes from embracing who they are rather than chasing other people’s expectations.
