Pritty Vishy announces social media break, says DJ journey left her feeling defeated and hated
By Katemarthason Okudo, July 25, 2026Digital content creator Purity Vishenwa, popularly known as Pritty Vishy, has announced that she is taking a break from social media, saying the criticism surrounding her new career as a DJ has taken an emotional toll on her.
In a post shared on her social media pages on Friday, July 24, 2026, Pritty said she never expected her decision to venture into DJing to attract so much negativity or affect relationships with people she once considered close.
The influencer explained that stepping away from social media was a personal decision aimed at protecting her mental wellbeing as she takes time to recover.
Says criticism has been overwhelming
Pritty revealed that the backlash she has received over the past few days has left her emotionally drained.

She said what hurt her most was not only the criticism from strangers but also what she described as attempts by people behind the scenes to damage the reputation she has worked hard to build.
“I never imagined that coming out as a DJ would bring so much hate or reopen old wounds with people I once called friends. I never imagined that people behind the scenes would be so determined to destroy the name and brand I’ve worked so hard to build,” she wrote.
She added that taking a break would allow her to breathe, heal and regain her peace of mind. “For the first time, I’m choosing to take a break and step away from social media to protect my peace. I need time to breathe, to heal and to clear my mind,” she added.

Opens up about feeling exhausted
The content creator also admitted that the recent events have left her feeling emotionally exhausted despite the effort she has invested in building her career.
She said she has always relied on hard work, consistency and determination to grow her brand, making the current situation particularly painful.
“I’ve built my brand on my own, with hard work, consistency and determination. Seeing everything I’ve worked for feel like it’s falling apart over something so small is heartbreaking. I feel defeated. I feel exhausted. I honestly don’t have the strength I once had,” she shared.
Pritty further admitted that she currently feels overwhelmed and hopes she will eventually regain the confidence to continue pursuing her dreams.

“At this moment, I feel lost, overwhelmed and hopeless. I’m just a girl trying her best, carrying more than most people will ever see. Sometimes, all you need is someone to hold your hand and remind you that everything will be okay. I truly hope I find that strength again,” she wrote.
Criticism followed her decision to become a DJ
Pritty’s latest remarks come just a day after she responded to criticism over her decision to pursue DJing.
She had asked critics to give her time to learn instead of comparing her to experienced DJs, insisting that every professional starts somewhere. Pritty also expressed surprise that many of those criticising her were men, saying she had not expected so many people to be invested in her new career path.
Despite the criticism and emotional challenges she has faced, the content creator has previously maintained that she remains passionate about DJing and hopes to continue improving her skills once she is ready to return.
