Past video of Wema Sepetu doubting motherhood resurfaces hours after giving birth
By Steve Ireri, June 13, 2026An old video of former Miss Tanzania and socialite Wema Sepetu in which she spoke candidly about her belief that she may never be able to conceive due to infertility and age has resurfaced online, hours after she shocked fans by announcing that she had welcomed a baby boy.
In the emotional clip shared on TikTok on Saturday, June 13, 2026, Wema opened up about her personal struggles with motherhood, revealing that she had already accepted that pregnancy might not be possible for her.
She said that even well-wishes regarding childbirth no longer affected her expectations, as she did not believe she would become pregnant.
“Of course I have not been blessed to have a baby. And even if you tell me that you wish me well and all the best in having a child, I cannot take that because I am not expecting that I will get a pregnancy,” she said.
She further explained that at the age of 35, she had come to terms with the idea that her journey toward having a child may have ended.
According to her, the desire to have a baby had gradually faded over time, adding that when someone longs for something deeply for too long without fulfilment, they eventually lose hope or interest.
“I have already turned 35, and I do not expect that I will become pregnant,” she added.

Wema also disclosed that she had been informed of medical complications that needed to be addressed first, which contributed to her belief that motherhood might not happen for her naturally. Despite the emotional weight of her statement, she emphasised acceptance and faith, noting that God remains in control of everything.
“My road to wanting a baby is done. You see, there is also desire, and it is not in me. Because when someone desires something so much, they lose interest,” she shared.
She added that any future relationship would require understanding from a partner regarding her condition, saying that love must also involve accepting each other’s challenges and limitations.
“I also don’t think I may have a baby because I have been told that I have problems that I need to deal with first. That is what is there, but God is still the greatest. My husband will also have to understand that I cannot bear a child because I have a problem. If he understands, well and good, because it is not possible that you love someone but do not accept their problems,” she said in the clip.
