Oga Obinna reveals Vurugu 2 will feature 28 fighters, music acts and celebrity entertainment
Oga Obinna has officially unveiled details of the upcoming Vurugu 2 boxing event, promising a bigger, louder and more international edition following the success of the first instalment that saw Majembe dominate Mbavu in a much-talked-about clash.
Speaking during an interview with a local radio station on Friday, June 12, 2026, Obinna revealed that Vurugu 2 will feature a mix of international performers, top local entertainers, DJs, media personalities and celebrity fighters, positioning the event as a major entertainment spectacle blending music, fashion and boxing.

He said the event will go beyond local participation, confirming that international music acts have been lined up to raise the entertainment level of the show. Among the artistes expected to perform is Nigerian star Ruger, alongside Kenyan heavyweights Khaligraph Jones and Wakadinali, who will represent the local music scene.
“Vurugu 2 is going to be bigger and better, and now we have international fighters and performers. On the music entertainment side, we have Ruger from Nigeria, Khaligraph Jones, and Wakadinali,” he said.
Obinna further revealed that the DJ lineup will include DJ Moh Spice, Kim Nickdee, DJ P Scratch and DJ Double Trap, all set to provide soundtracks for the high-energy event throughout the fights and performances.
On hosting duties, he noted that Mrs Obinna will be part of the microphone team alongside MC Antonio, who will guide the crowd through the various segments of the event.
“On the DJ lineup, we have Moh Spice, Kim Nickdee, DJ P Scratch, and DJ Double Trap. On the microphone, we have Mrs Obinna, MC Antonio, and others,” he added.
The red carpet segment will also feature well-known personalities including Tony Mwirigi, Trudy Kitui and Jackie Ogaga, who will handle arrivals, celebrity interactions and fashion moments during the event.
Turning to the boxing card, Obinna confirmed that Vurugu 2 will feature 28 fighters, including 26 main fighters and two paraprofessional boxers, in what he described as a more competitive and expanded fight roster.
Among the headline celebrity fights announced is a clash involving Shakib Cham, who recently made headlines following his split with socialite Zari Hassan. He is expected to step into the ring in one of the most anticipated bouts of the night.
“On the red carpet, we will have Tony Mwirigi, Trudy Kitui, and Jackie Ogaga. On the ring, we have boxers like Shakib Cham, the ex-husband of Zari Hassan, and Arrow Bwoy, who has also recently been in the headlines,” he said.
Another celebrity fighter announced is singer Arrow Bwoy, who will also participate in a high-profile match-up that Obinna hinted would draw massive attention from fans.
The event will also feature other notable fighters, including Gachau and former world champion Fatuma Zarika, who is expected to face a Tanzanian opponent in one of the international matchups on the card.
“The fight between Arrow Bwoy and Shakib will be crazy. We also have other fighters like Gachau and Fatuma Zarika, who will also be there fighting an opponent from Tanzania. We have many fighters, 26 actually, or 28 because there are two para-boxers,” he added.
