Mimi ndio patron wa wamama: Mosiria declares support for women and single mothers

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has declared himself a champion of women and single mothers after reacting to an online campaign suggesting that he should vie for the Women Representative seat.

In a statement shared on his social media platforms on Thursday, July 23, 2026, Mosiria said he had noticed Kenyans pushing the idea of “Mosiria for Women Rep”, adding that he had no problem with the proposal because he has always stood with women through his work and public service.

“Kuna watu walianza online campaign eti Mosiria for Women Rep. Nikasema ni sawa, juu mimi ni kiongozi wa kina mama, dada zetu na single mothers. Hamna shida,” Mosiria said.

The county official went on to make a light-hearted declaration, saying he would from now on consider himself the patron of women, single mothers and beautiful women across Nairobi and the rest of the country.

“Kuanzia leo, jua mimi ndio patron wa wamama, single mothers na warembo wangu wote Nairobi na Kenya nzima!” he added.

“Nani ako na swali? Kina mama na dada zetu waheshimiwe.”

Mosiria’s rescue mission

Although the remarks were made in a humorous tone, Mosiria has built a public image as a leader who frequently responds to the concerns of ordinary Kenyans, especially vulnerable members of society.

In the course of his duties at Nairobi City County, he has been at the forefront of numerous initiatives aimed at helping people rebuild their lives.

He has personally intervened to rescue individuals living on the streets, facilitated the rehabilitation of those battling drug and substance abuse, and supported transformation programmes that give beneficiaries a second chance.

Mosiria has also earned praise for stepping in whenever cases of injustice arise. Whether responding to public complaints, assisting victims in distress or coordinating rescue operations during emergencies, he has consistently positioned himself as a public servant willing to go beyond the call of duty.

His active presence on social media has further strengthened his connection with Nairobi residents, many of whom regularly tag him in complaints ranging from environmental pollution and illegal dumping to noise disturbances and public safety concerns.

In many instances, Mosiria has responded promptly by mobilising relevant teams to address the issues.
