Lenzah Ademba urges creators to keep Derrick Omollo’s legacy alive after burial

Content creator Lenzah Ademba has called on fellow creators to keep the legacy of late content creator Derrick Omollo alive following his burial.
In a post shared on Saturday, September 19, Ademba thanked everyone who contributed towards Omollo’s farewell, attended the burial and offered words of encouragement during the difficult period.
“Hello everyone. So yesterday we laid Omolo to rest, and thank you so much for your contribution. Thank you so much for showing up. Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. Thank you so much,” she said.
Ademba’s message came a day after Omollo was laid to rest, with the content creator acknowledging the support that had been shown throughout the period surrounding his death.
She also used the message to encourage the online community to continue remembering Omollo beyond his burial.
Ademba introduces #LongLiveOmolo
Ademba asked content creators to adopt the hashtag #LongLiveOmolo whenever they share content that keeps Omollo’s memory alive.
She then directly appealed to fellow creators to participate in the initiative, suggesting that using the hashtag could help keep Omollo’s name and legacy alive within the digital space.
“So come on creator, unaweza tumia hashtag long live Omollo to keep his legacy going,” she said.
The appeal comes as members of the content creation community continue to reflect on Omollo’s contribution to Kenya’s online entertainment scene.
Keeping memories alive
Ademba described Omollo as a “vibrant content creator” and said she wanted to cherish that part of his identity while ensuring his contribution was not forgotten.
“Omollo was a vibrant content creator, and I want to cherish that and keep, yani, so I don’t forget that there was one content creator, one big content creator called Omollo,” she said.
Her message encouraged creators to use their platforms not only to mourn Omollo but also to continue highlighting the work and personality that made him known to his audience.
Ademba ended her message by once again thanking those who showed up, contributed and offered encouragement, as she urged the community to keep Omollo’s memory going through the #LongLiveOmollo hashtag.
